Presented by Nat Bayjay: Project Manager
Ceasefire Liberia is a multimedia project to put Liberian Diaspora in touch with what is happening at home. The project is run with Ruthie Ackerman (Nat has only met Ruthie today at the GV Summit in Chile!!). Liberia is recovering from 14 years of Civil War. Ceasefire is trying to bridge the gap between Liberians across the world and those who are still at home.
Violence and destruction are scattered across Liberia. Ceasefire Liberia aims to to cover stories of Liberians in the country and make people hear their stories. Nat covers a lot of actual stories of Liberians who have been affected on a very real level with the civil war. A lot of Aid organisations and hospitals have been made aware of their plight and have offered help to these affected Liberians through the efforts of Ceasfire Liberia.
They are trying to recruit female bloggers in Liberia. The major stumbling block is the lack of equipment for these women to start blogging. With the upcoming elections, they are trying to increase the equipment and infrastructure to help these people blog the upcoming elections.
